Newcastle Entertainment Centre & Showground

The Newcastle Entertainment Centre is a multi-purpose arena located in the Newcastle Showgrounds in Newcastle. The facility was opened in June 1992 and has a total capacity of around 7,500 patrons.

The Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showgrounds are managed by AEG Ogden on behalf of Venues NSW.

The centre has flexible configurations and can host various events including concerts, sports, exhibitions and functions, with anywhere between 2,000 to 6,500 guests. The venue has a car park facility with 1,500 individual car spaces as well as a coach parking area.

The centre plays host to local, national and international acts as well as providing a venue for exhibitions, conferences, sporting events and functions. The centre is part of the AEG Ogden Arena Network which allows the centre to collaborate with other venues including Allphones Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and Perth Arena to benefit from intelligence on touring events.

Newcastle Showground features a show ring with seating for 3,000 people.  It is the home of the Newcastle Agricultural Show, the Newcastle City Farmers Market and is also used for a range of exhibitions, sales and shows.
