ANZ Stadium Redevelopment
The NSW Government is redeveloping Stadium Australia into a permanent rectangular venue with 70,000 seats. This redevelopment will move seats closer to the field of play and update the stadium to contemporary standards providing a world class experience for spectators and enhancing NSW’s position as a global and sporting destination.
In June 2019, Infrastructure NSW (INSW) was given the green light to commence the planning process for the redevelopment of Stadium Australia and construction is expected to start in mid-2020.
On 17 July 2019 the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) were received from the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPI&E). Infrastructure NSW is currently preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) as part of the State Significant Development Application (SSDA) to be lodged with the DPIE in the coming months.
There will also be an opportunity to ‘Have your Say’ when DPIE place the EIS on public exhibition later this year.
