NEW MEASURES TO REDUCE TRANSMISSION OF COVID-19 IN AUSTRALIA
In response to expert medical advice aimed at slowing the rate transmission of COVID-19 in the Australian community, the Federal and NSW Governments have placed restriction on non-essential outdoor public gatherings of 500 people or more and indoor public gatherings of 100 or more.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison added that social distancing measures, in addition to controlling community transmission, would help alleviate the pressure of our health system throughout the pandemic.
Australia’s Chief Medical Officer Brendan Murphy said that while community transmissions existed, it remains low level at the moment.
EVENTS AT VENUES NSW STADIA AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE NETWORK
Football Federation Australia (FFA) has confirmed its Hyundai A-League 2019/20 regular season will proceed behind closed doors, with the policy to be reviewed for the Finals Series. The National Rugby League (NRL) has confirmed that, until further notice, all matches will proceed behind closed doors.
As such, spectators will be unable to attend any sporting matches at our stadiums until further notice.
Venues NSW and its operators are liaising with promoters and organisers of scheduled events and hirers to discuss the impact of the Government's advice on the event schedules across our venues. Where possible, we hope to reschedule events which are expected to a later date .
We appreciate your patience as we seek alternate arrangements for upcoming events. It is our intent to be able to communicate any event outcomes as they are confirmed.
Updated communication will be available via our Venues NSW website and our venue websites (ANZ Stadium, Bankwest Stadium, Newcastle Entertainment Centre, McDonald Jones Stadium and WIN Sports and Entertainment Centres), or via notification directly to ticket holders by their ticketing provider.
