Rugby league fans are being encouraged to pack out ANZ Stadium for the State of Origin decider in just over two weeks’ time.
Minister for Sport John Sidoti said tickets to the Game 3 blockbuster are in hot demand with over 14,000 tickets already sold in just one day after the Perth match.
“The NSW Blues are now on the cusp of a second successive series win and I am calling on everyone from NSW to get behind our team,” said Mr Sidoti.
“It will be the hottest ticket in town when Rugby League’s greatest rivalry is decided in front of more than 80,000 fans at ANZ Stadium and I want to see a sea of blue.”
The NSW Blues thrashed Queensland 38 - 6 in Perth last night, squaring the series and giving the Blues a chance to lift the trophy again, in front of their home fans.
Mr Sidoti congratulated NSW on their historic win, which was their second biggest victory in State of Origin history.
“Under pressure from game one, this was a fabulous fightback from Captain Boyd Cordner and Coach Brad Fittler over in Perth,” Mr Sidoti said.
“Our Blues were outstanding across the paddock. James Maloney, James Tedesco and Tom Trbojevic were standouts, going on to score try after try, even when the rain came pelting down.”
All tickets to State of Origin Game 3, at ANZ Stadium, will include return public transport to Sydney Olympic Park.
